    I used this activity in a virtual group. Since not everyone had easy access to coins, I had a stack of coins and gave everyone a year to work with.

    As an alternative, I had everyone pick a year between their birth and present day. Then they proceeded to follow the regular instructions to tell a story about something they experienced or remembered about that year.
