playmeo joined 1% For The Planet as a business member in July 2021, pledging to donate 1% of our annual sales to support non-profit organisations focused on the environment.
At the very core of this decision is our belief that this is simply a cost of doing business. It’s not philanthropy. It’s paying rent for our use of the planet.
Our donations are certified at the end of every financial year. We commit to sharing the total of our accumulated donations right here.
To date, we have donated USD$8,981.

What is 1% For The Planet?
1% For The Planet is a global organisation that connects dollars and doers to tackle the world’s most pressing environmental issues. Sadly, the current level of environmental giving – only 3% of total philanthropy – is not enough to solve the most urgent problems facing our planet.
It inspires people to support environmental organisations through annual membership and everyday actions. They advise on giving strategies, certify donations, and amplify the impact of the network.
Importantly, there’s no middleman (or woman) between our donations and the non-profit organisations we support. Every dollar goes directly to support them and their work.
Our partnership with 1% For The Planet means that we are paired with environmental non-profits that align with our values, our brand and make the biggest impact possible.
Started in 2002 by Yvon Chouinard, founder of Patagonia, and Craig Mathews, founder of Blue Ribbon Flies, 1% For The Planet exists to prevent greenwashing, certify reputable giving and provide accountability. Certification is only given to businesses and individuals that meet its high-bar commitment – donate 1% of annual sales or salary to environmental causes.
We can always give more, but playmeo pledges to never give less than one per cent.

What’s not so clear is what our world may look like in 10, 50 or even 100 years from now.
We’re not interested in growing for the sake of growth. And while admirable, we’re not even interested in growing in a sustainable way. We are committed to growing in a responsible way. Responsible to our subscribers, our community and to the planet.
As 1% For The Planet says, when we all work together, 1% adds up.
