Have used this activity quite often as the conclusion to a larger activity and it never fails to produce the effect that I am after.
It is highly competitive and loud and exciting. I use ping pong/ table tennis balls due to its high bouncing qualities and unless the ball stays in the bucket, the points won’t count.. makes it super exciting.
From the outset, I do mention that the person or team throwing gets to choose what is within their ability and that only encouragement is welcome. Judgements are made only by the person throwing. This helps keep things friendlier most of the time.
As a stand alone activity, debriefing in terms of personal choices and how we assess our abilities would certainly be a couple of the themes I would explore. Interactions amongst teams such as creating supportive environments and ways of negotiating roles and objectives, and evaluating and taking risks would be other themes to look at.
Super fun to play and really great activity if you are looking to end on a high note. high.
