How to Help Your Group Feel Like a Team

It can be hard to help any group feel like a team in under five minutes, but try this.

It’s an activity I call Name Train, and it’s all about connecting your team members to one another by just using their names.

It’s a brilliant no-props activity because almost everyone has a first and a last name, and it’s quick and super simple to present.

It starts by asking any two members of your group to match either the first or last letters of their first names to form a pair.

For example, Peter could partner with Rose because they each share a letter in common, the letter R, at the beginning or the end of their first names. Now, this pairing continues until everyone is part of a pair of matching letters.

And this is just the first step towards creating team success…
