It has always been possible to integrate a wide variety of experiential and adventure-based activities to develop and nourish the social-emotional learning (SEL) skills of your group.
Indeed, these types of activities were often viewed as essential to developing these critical social and interpersonal skills because they were highly interactive, engaging and most of all, fun.
The hard part was knowing which activities were the best ones to use. Until now.
New SEL and Health & Wellness Search Terms
In response to the overwhelming demand of its members, playmeo has embarked on a huge project to update every single activity featured in its database with a view to achieving SEL and health & wellness outcomes.
And to help you, we have added a bunch of new attributes in our activities search engine to help you find exactly what you’re looking for.
You have at least three primary starting points:
Activity Type – select the new Health & Wellness attribute if you’re searching for the type of activity that speaks to a range of health and wellness benefits.
Program Outcome – select the new Enhance Wellbeing attribute if you looking to achieve specific wellbeing outcomes.
Skill Development – select one of 20 unique skill-based attributes to find a bunch of activities that will help you build important social and interpersonal competencies such as mindfulness, resilience, self-awareness and critical thinking.
As we say, this is a huge task and will take some months to complete, but the work has started (we’re about 30% complete.)
We expect the entire database will be updated with this new content by the end of the year.
This is a glimpse of the new content tabs within individual activity detail pages:
To get started, all you need to do is navigate to our powerful activity search tool, select which specific skill you’d like to focus on from the drop-down Skills Development list – eg responsible decision-making, accountability, creativity, etc – and hit Search.
More often than not, you’ll get a ton of options to browse through before you make a selection. Voila!
Stay tuned, we have a LOT more health & wellness and SEL content coming soon.
