The BEST No-Prop Energiser – Gotcha v One-Two-Three?

Lazy Facilitator Ep 30 (1200x600)

Help Us Settle the Ultimate No-Prop Energiser Debate

Every facilitator has a handful of go-to activities that never fail – no matter the group, the room, or the mood in it.

Two of ours have earned that status many times over, and we need your help deciding which one comes out on top.

Both require zero props and zero prep, yet guarantee laughter within seconds.

First up is Gotcha.

Stand in a circle, or pair up, and hold your right palm open towards your neighbour while placing your left pointer finger into someone else’s palm. On “go,” everyone tries to catch the finger in their palm while yanking their own finger free before it gets caught. It’s simple, it’s ridiculous, and it works every single time – with plenty of variations to keep it fresh.

Then there’s One-Two-Three.

Pairs take turns counting one, two, three, back and forth, as fast as they can. Straightforward enough, until you swap “one” for a clap, “two” for a jump, and “three” for a meow. What follows is glorious chaos – and, again, it never gets old thanks to endless variations.

Two games. Both instant. Both reliably brilliant for shifting a group’s energy in moments.

Vote for Your Favourite

So here’s our question for you: which one is your favourite, and why?

Cast your vote in the poll below, or drop a comment telling us your reasoning – we’re genuinely curious whether Gotcha’s chaos or One Two Three’s escalating silliness wins out with facilitators like you.

Don’t forget, you can access the full step-by-step instructions for running both activities in the links above.
